Marjorie Mae Wright

Marjorie Mae Wright, 88, of Parkersburg, passed away, Wednesday, April 9, 2025. She was born July 19, 1936 in Wood County, a daughter of the late Roy Arlington and Opal Mae Gillespie.

She was a 1954 graduate of Parkersburg High School. She retired from the Wood County B.O.E. as the secretary of the bus garage with over 30 years of service. She was known for her love for animals, especially her kittys. She was always making sure they had the best lives, always buying them toys and special treats, taking care of the neighborhood strays, and donating to the Humane Society.

Marg is survived by her two daughters, Deborah White of Mineral Wells and Barbara Apelboim of Florida; her closest grandchildren, Christy Hendershot (Jeff) and Rocky Poling (Brooke), both of Walker; and great-grandchildren, Marissa, Brantly, and Brylee.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Tamarah Dee Poling, and her son, Gregory Wright.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St. with Evangelist Ron Laughery officiating. Burial will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 -8 p.m., Monday April 14, and one hour prior to the funeral services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
