Date and Time of Service: Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010 2:00 p.m.posted 9/13/2010 at 9:57:46 AMMarjorie Elaine Simpson, 74, of Belpre, Ohio, passed away on Sept. 11, 2010 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.She was born on July 24, 1936, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a daughter of the late Byrd and Flossie Morgan Johnson.Marjorie was a graduate of Belpre High School with the class of 1955 where she was a majorette and a prom queen. She worked as a telephone operator and later was manager of the Business Bank of California for several years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and attended the Belpre Heights United Methodist Church.She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jerry Simpson; one daughter, Debbie (Tom) Hawkins of Murrieta, California; two grandchildren, Kasey Hawkins and Dustin Fike, both of Murrieta, California; and niece and nephew, Larry Ford (Michael Matthews) of Belpre, Ohio, Linda Ford Ritchie (Blaine) of Parkersburg, W.Va.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Johnson Ford and Mary Johnson Coplin.Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Blvd, Belpre, Ohio with Pastor Paul McGuire officiating. Interment will follow at Rockland Cemetery, Belpre, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 pm Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
