Marjorie P. Shannon, 90, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on November 7, 2015. Marjorie was born August 29, 1925, a daughter of the late Virgil E. and Virtue Mae Peters in Cambridge, OH. Marjorie was a homemaker, seamstress, worked at “My Cousin and I”, Parkersburg Credit Bureau and as a Merchandiser. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James T. Shannon, two brothers, Robert E. Peters, Richard Peters; a sister, Martha K.(Scotty) Timms, and a niece, Diana Sellins. She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Strimer (Rich) of Parkersburg, Jacqueline Peck, of Las Vegas, NV and Jamie Farley, of Boynton Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Michael Hill, Dustin (Morgan) Strimer, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Erika Strimer of West Palm Beach, FL, and Leah (Carlyle) Currie of Belpre, OH; six great-grand children; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 5:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2015 at First Baptist Church, 9th & Market Sts. Parkersburg with Pastor John Strimer officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until time of service Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice.
