Mario “Phil” Martino 92 of Vienna, W.Va., died March 25, 2014 at his residence.He was born April 10, 1921 in Follansbee, W.Va. a son of the late Francesco and Margharita Tecca Martino. Mario spent most of his adult life in the retail and wholesale paper and lumber business. From accountant to sales representative and several years as President and General Manager. He retired from Babcock Lumber Co. Pittsburg, Pa. in 1991 as a sales representative.He is a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church of Parkersburg, a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, his unit participated in the Normandy Invasion of June 6, 1944, serving from 1942-1946 and a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves. He served various organizations including the American Legion, Veterans Of Foreign Wars, Wellsburg Elks, Wellsburg Chamber Of Commerce, Toastmasters Club, Garibaldi Lodge and Theta Chi Alpha Fraternity. He was an avid golfer and traveler. His hobbies included music and arts appreciation.He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean they married on June 4th, 1983; three daughters, Carolyn Yedlika (Tim) of Glenshaw, Pa., Anita Carenbaurer of Wheeling and Celeste Marshall also of Wheeling; five grandchildren; one brother, Frank of Wellsburg and one sister, Mary Gampolo of Steubenville, Ohio.He was preceded in death by his first wife, Esther Cerra Martino in 1979, his youngest daughter, Valerie Pendleton of Pittsburg, Pa. on December 7, 2006, his parents, three brothers and four sistersFriends may be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 28th 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m.., Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Calvin Ferrell officiating. Graveside services will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, W.Va. at 3:00 P.M. Saturday.Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
