Marilyn Jean Church, 88, of Coolville, Ohio passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at her residence. Marilyn was born July 1, 1928 in Wood County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Olin Noah and Claude Ruby Ray Foutty. Marilyn was a graduate of Parkersburg High School and had a long career as a secretary. She had worked at Corning Glass and was retired as a secretary to the plant manager of American Cyanamid. During her retirement years, she was a merchandiser for Hallmark Cards. Marilyn loved taking care of her farm, especially mowing grass with her riding mower. She was Christian by faith. She is survived by her daughter, Susan D. Hescht of Coolville; two grandchildren, Tracy L. Reynolds (Jake) of Syracuse, Utah and Brent D. Hescht (Amber) of Coolville; seven great-grandchildren, Kendra and Rhett Hescht, Gavin and Kallen Jarman and Julie, Eli and Eric Reynolds; and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Burley Hollis Church in 1989; a sister, Doris Hechesky; and two brothers, Ray and Paul Foutty. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Boulevard, Belpre with Pastor Don Yeager officiating. Services will conclude with burial in Coolville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home.
