Mamie R. Carpenter

Mamie R. Carpenter, 88, of Parkersburg, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born October 13, 1928 in Roane County (Flinttown, WV), the daughter of the late Floyd U. and Mary A. Payne Ice. Mamie was a homemaker and her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed flowers, dogs and puzzles. Mamie is survived by her four children; Sherrell S. Daugherty of Parkersburg, Gregory C. Carpenter (Linda) of Rockport, Cynthia A. Hefner (Stan) of Parkersburg and Mark S. Carpenter (Cynthia) also of Parkersburg; sister-in-law, Jackalea Ice of Spencer; five grandchildren, Melissa Carpenter of Parkersburg, Stacy States (Brent) of Mineral Wells, Tony Hefner (Molly) of Charlotte, NC, Valerie Crabtree (Kyle) of Vienna, Rachel Heller (Adam) of Morgantown; five great-granddaughters; seven great-grandsons; and her dog, Lexie. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Augustus Bryce Carpenter in 2003; son-in-law, Roger Daugherty; five sisters; and four brothers. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 25, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. south Parkersburg with Pastor Jerry Caplinger and Stan Hefner officiating. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memory Gardens in Parkersburg. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
