Madelyn Twila Ramsey Williams, 83, of Belpre went home to the Lord on Friday, May 26, 2017 following a short illness at Camden Clark Medical Center. Madelyn was born in Washington County, Ohio on August 11, 1933, the daughter of the late Floyd and Catherine (Gibson) Ramsey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Oakley (Junie) Williams Jr.; four brothers, Delbert Ramsey, Leroy Ramsey, Malcome Goins and Denzel Ramsey; and a sister, Creola Edwards. She was a faithful member of The First Baptist Church of Belpre, was employed by the phone company as well as taking care of the elderly for many years by taking care of their homes. Madelyn loved attending her Church, planting flowers in her yard, taking her daily walks, visiting on her sister Jinks’ front porch, spending time with her great-granddaughters, Maddie and Mica, and enjoyed baking, especially homemade dinner rolls. But most of all she loved reading her many Bibles which she read over 22 times. She is survived by her niece/daughter, Ginger Mayle Watkins; son-in-law, Cornell Watkins of Belpre; grandchildren, Cornell II, Heather and Lamar; twin great-granddaughters, Madelyn Kapri and Micaelyn Korey, all of Columbus; two sisters, Marcell Ogden (Jimmy) of Little Hocking and “Jinks” Wilma Williams of Belpre; a brother, Pastor Eugene Ramsey (Phyllis) of Columbus; and many other special family members and many friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Blvd. Belpre with Pastor David Nutt officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Belpre. Friends are invited to call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
