Luther Burdette Wingrove

Luther Burdette Wingrove, 88, of Waverly, departed this life on November 6, 2017, at Parkersburg Care Center. He was born May 20, 1929 in Wood County, WV, the son of the late Thomas F. and Vernie Corbin Wingrove. Luther was an Army PFC and was wounded in the Korean War. He was a member of the Painters Local Union #153. He is survived by one daughter, Thelma Jean Wingrove Cutlip (Donald) of Wood County, WV; one son, Lewis Burl Wingrove (Becky) of Waverly, WV; special friend Don and Kitty Pritchett and care giver, Karen Decker; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Dolores “Ruthie” Moore Wingrove and daughter, Debra J. Wingrove. Funeral services for Luther will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave, Vienna, WV with Pastor Brady Stephens officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, where Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #15 at the cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at the Funeral Home, from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M.
