Loyd R. Williams, 72, of Washington, W.Va. died on September 28, 2014, at Charleston Area Medical Center.He was born Feb. 8, 1942, in Wood County, W.Va. a son of the late Lawrence Jennings and Birdie Violet Pennybaker Williams.Loyd was retired from E.I. Dupont after a 38 year career culminating as a Senior Technician Pressure Vessel Inspector. He loved all sports especially Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, WVU Mountaineer Football, and NASCAR. He loved to trout fish.He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janet Martin Williams; two sons, Russ Williams of Abingdon, Md. and Steve Williams of Washington, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Wyatt and Morgan Williams of Abingdon, Md.; two sisters, Frances Fritschie (Rich) of Rockaway, N.J. and Diana Stonehouse (Tony) of Oldsmar, Fla.; one brother, David W. Williams (Johnnie) of Parkersburg; two sisters-in-law, Dene Williams of Washington, W.Va. and Dianna Williams of Parkersburg; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and the family cat “Nikki”.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Edward Williams and Martin E. Williams.There will be no services or visitation. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services will be assisting the family with arrangements.Donations may be made in honor of Loyd to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
