Louise Fleming

Louise I. Fleming,78, of Vienna, departed this life on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Selby General Hospital in Marietta. She was born August 31, 1945, a daughter of the late Harry & Lowilla Postlewait Sprouse.

Surviving Louise is her husband of 59 years, Phil Fleming; two sons Phillip II (September) Fleming and David (Jennifer) Fleming; three sisters, Rita May (Lee) Hickman, Rose Marie Roberts and Ruth Mulinex; one brother, David (Lori) Sprouse and one sister-in-law, Ruth Sprouse; three brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law; five grandchildren, Gretchen, Emma, Mathew, James and Ava; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a very devoted 55 year member of Vienna Baptist Church, a 54 year member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, as well as local chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Eastern Star. Among her many accomplishments, she was elected Recorder of the City of Vienna, and served as Acting Mayor during a portion of that term.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Frank & Billy Sprouse; one brother-in-law; and one sister-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the program Louise founded to feed children of the community, Blessings of Hope in care of Vienna Baptist Church, 3401 Grand Central Avenue, Vienna, WV 26105.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Vienna Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Brown Officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg. Visitation is from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home in Vienna and one hour prior to the service at the church.
