Louis J. Bogdan, 99, passed away on February 2, 2020 at Harmar Place, Marietta, Ohio. He had a long and wide ranging career as a mechanical engineer and was still designing things into his 100th year. After his retirement, Lou volunteered for VITA, the police station, Faithlink and election- day polling places, among others. He was recently recognized by the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council and the Parkersburg Police Department for his 40 years of volunteer service. Lou was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Vienna and the Secular Franciscan Order. Lou was born in New Hartford, NY, on June 30, 1920 and was married for 61 years to Winifred A. Bogdan, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, John (Sue) of Vienna; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Catholic Church in Vienna, WV, on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at 11 am. Interment will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
