Loretta Jane “Janie” Philbrick, 82, of Parkersburg, passed away on September 10, 2025 at WVU Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born February 13, 1943 in Parkersburg, to the late Dorothy Berneida (Cale) and Doil “Buck” Ritchea.
She graduated from Parkersburg High School with the class of 1961. She worked in the doctors’ offices of Athey & Lutz and Dr. David. She also worked in the respiratory therapy department of St. Joseph’s Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Basil Philbrick; her daughter, Sherry (Skip) Roedersheimer; step-daughter, Tracy (David) James; grandchildren, Joshua Lowers, Carrie (Shane) Anderson, and Ellen (Scott) Roedersheimer; great-grandchildren, who were her joy, Jackson, Adalyn, Noah, Matthew, and coming soon, Thomas; and many close friends whom she considered family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Gene and Jim Ritchea, her first husband, Denzil “Denny” Lowers; her daughter, Mary Lowers; and step-son, Scott Philbrick.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff in ICU and 1 West at Camden Clark Medical Center for their kindness to her and her family during her illness.
