Loretta Sue Murphy

Loretta Sue Murphy, 70, of Elizabeth, peacefully passed away July 3, 2024. She was born July 21, 1953, a daughter, to the late Arlie E. and Thelma M. Harris Freshour.

She was a 1973 graduate from Ripley High School. She was a volunteer at the Jackson County Senior Center in Ripley. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, watching deer in the fields, crocheting, and putting together puzzles.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 51 wonderful years, Lee Roy Murphy; her daughter, Misty Knisley; her son, Lee Roy Murphy II; four grandchildren, Tyler Waldeck, Michael Murphy, Blayn Knisley, and Jayden Knisley; and many other friends and loved ones.

In addition to her parents, Loretta is preceded in death by a brother, Michael Freshour; and three grandchildren, Brandon Knisley, Erica Knisley, and Skylor Knisley.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg, with Pastor Everett Snyder officiating. Family will accept visitors from 11 AM until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
