Date and Time of Service: Vienna Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.posted 11/4/2010 at 2:33:42 PMLloyd Raymond Hodge, 84, of Belpre, previously of Vienna, passed away at Marietta Memorial Hospital and went home to be with his Lord on November 3, 2010. Prior to this he had been a resident of the Wyngate Assisted Living Facility.He was born in Ritchie County on November 16, 1925, a son of the late Hattie and Oakley Hodge. He graduated from Pullman High School and served in the U.S. Navy as a Gunners Mate 3rd Class. He married Mildred Matson Lewellyn in 1946 and moved to the Parkersburg area where he began working for Monongahela Power Company and retired from there with thirty-nine years of service and was affectionately referred to as “Uncle Lloyd”. He was a member of the Vienna Baptist Church for over fifty years and served in many ways including his favorite position as a Deacon. He took his responsibilities seriously and visited members in hospitals and in their homes on a regular basis. He enjoyed camping and spent many winters in Florida. He was also a talented woodworker and an avid West Virginia fan.He is survived by a daughter, Cindy Shutts (Mark) of Belpre; three sons, A. Wayne “Lew” Lewellyn (Annie) of Williamstown, W.Va., Rev. James L. Hodge (Sherri) of Erie, PA, Mark A. Hodge (Mary)of Palm Bay, FL; three brothers, Arden Hodge (Opal) of Berea, W.Va., Rev. Harlan Hodge (Dorthea) of Harrisville, W.Va., and Floyd Hodge (Donna) of Harrisville, W.Va.; fourteen grandchildren; and thirty-three great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred G. Hodge in 2008, his son, Michael R. Hodge in 1999 and infant brother, Harold Glenn Hodge in 1932.Funeral services will be conducted at 2PM Saturday November 6, 2010, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, with Rev. James L. Hodge officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Friday November 5, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8PM and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the Vienna Baptist Church, 3400 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va., 26105.
