Lewis “Louie” Marvin Dobson, 83, of Vienna, W.Va., passed away on Nov. 29, 2015, at Camden Clark Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Louie was born in Vienna, the son of the late Orval and Hazel Ayers Dobson. He was a 1950 graduate of Parkersburg High School and a U.S. Navy Veteran, having been stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas. He retired from E.I. Dupont after 34 years of service and was a member of Vienna Baptist Church and most recently attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events, was an avid Parkersburg South High School fan, spending time with his dogs, Bingo and Sammy, Seinfeld comedy shows, riding the city bus, ramp season, “J” dollar breakfasts, breakfast with family and friends, as well as attending Dupont retiree events. He is survived by one daughter, Julie Peeks of Worland, WY; two sons, Lewis “Butch” Jr. (Carol) Dobson of Mineral Wells, W.Va. and Richard “Rick” (Tammy) Dobson of Washington, W.Va.; son-in-law, Thomas Jamison of Parkersburg; six grandchildren, Thomas Jamison Jr. of Parkersburg, Timothy (Mallory) Jamison of Huntington, W.Va., Brandy Marple of Bridgeport, W.Va., Adam (Whitney) Dobson, Aaron Dobson, and Ty Dobson, all of Washington, W.Va.; eight great-grandchildren, Dylan and Billie Jamison of Huntington, Reagan, Rory, Grady Marple and Rowyn Harris, all of Bridgeport, W.Va., Parker and Paxton Dobson, of Washington, W.Va.; and one nephew, Dewayne Gault of Vienna, W.Va. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tharrell Shepard Dobson; his daughter, Debra Jamison; and his sister, Erma Lee Gault. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, WV, with Pastor Kurt Busiek officiating. Interment will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens with full military rites by the American Legion Post 15. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home. His family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Jason Barton, Dr. Sivamurthy Kyathari, Dr. Michael Galloway, Dr. Devang Butani, their entire staffs and his nurses for all the excellent care he received. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkersburg South High School and Parkersburg High School Athletic Departments in Louie's memory.
