Lester Franklin “Frank” Dowler, 84, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on Nov. 14,2014 at his residence.He was born Nov. 13, 1930 in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late William and Dora Yoho Dowler.Frank retired from DuPont with 30 years of service. He was a farmer and loved woodworking and working in his woodshop. He was a member of the Southside Southern Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty M. Caltrider Dowler; three children, Terry L. (Kay) Dowler, Jeanne (Rusty) Phillips, and Tim (Tina) Dowler, all of Parkersburg; one son-in-law, Ed Harris of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; grandchildren, Jody Harris, Becky (Rod) Marks, Lindsey Harris, Josh (Lisa) Wiblin, Stephani (Jason) Cox, Brian (Rebecca) Dowler, Sara (Simon) Schoenlein, Sonny (Shannon) Dye, Francis Merritt, Austin Dowler, and Chris (Rachel) Ferry; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Cameron and Mallory Marks, Ayden, Jackson, and Sammy Lovell, Matthew and Seth Cox, Lilly and Aubeny Dye, Aubrey Schoenlein, Nathaniel and Nova Ferry; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Lucy.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce Harris; granddaughter, Erica Lovell; six brothers, Edsel, Virgil, Wayne, Dick, Eugene and Milford Dowler; and four sisters, Freda Batten, Leona Morris, Mamie Drain, and Eloise Dowler.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Paul Drake officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.
