Date and Time of Service: 10AM Thursday, July 29, 2010 – Pike St.posted 7/20/2010 at 2:26:59 PMLeRoy Dailey, 73, of Lubeck, WV, died Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, WV.He was predeceased by his father, Harry F. Dailey, and his mother, Edith Mae Whitney, of Montrose, PA.Roy, as he was called, is survived by his four children, son, LeRoy K. Dailey and his wife Cindy of San Diego, CA; daughter, LeAnn K. Hawickhorst and her husband Kurt of Virginia Beach, VA, son Thomas K. Dailey and his wife Brenda of Chesapeake, VA, son Joel I. Dailey of Virginia Beach, VA; eight grandchildren, five in VirginiaScott, Matthew, Joshua, Julia, and Lydiaand three in CaliforniaJames, Samantha and Alyssa; two great grandchildren, Amina and Brynn of San Diego; and several nieces, nephews and friends, including Vicky Beha and family. He was an avid and accomplished golfer.A 24-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, Roy entered as a seaman and worked his way up to the grade of O4, achieving a number of commendations and awards and retiring as a lieutenant commander. He served aboard several ships, including the USS Blue Ridge LCC19 and the USS Enterprise CVN-65. At retirement Roy served at SIMA in San Diego, CA. After retiring from the Navy, he worked for Hughes Aircraft/Raytheon. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg and the VFW.Funeral services will be conducted at 10AM Thursday, July 29, 2010, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg. Interment will follow shortly after at 2PM at the National Cemetery at Grafton, W.Va. The family will receive friends from 5-8PM on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at the funeral home.
