Leon Wayne Patterson

Leon Wayne Patterson, 89, of Parkersburg, passed away July 18, 2025 at Worthington Healthcare Center. He was born October 8, 1935 in Sherman, WV, a son of the late John E. and Hattie B. Moore Patterson.

Leon was a photographer, serving honorably in the U.S. Air Force. He later went into printing for Banner, Easton and Newlon Printing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, drawing, reading, and completing crossword puzzles.

He is survived by two nephews, Russell Patterson (Dottie) of Parkersburg and Gerald Patterson (Teresa) of Galloway, OH; six nieces, Janice Laughman of OH, Sandra Wires (Tony) of Parkersburg, Colleen Corbin (Joel) of Greenwood, IN, Liz Harvey (Don) of Seattle, WA, Mary Patterson of Denver, CO, and Gloria McClung (Jeff) of Cattlesburg, KY.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by seven brothers, Virgil, Charles “Chuck”, Arthur “Gene”, Fred, Calvin, Eldon, and Seldon.

The family would like to thank the medical team and staff at Worthington Healthcare Center and Housecalls Hospice for their loving and wonderful care for Leon.

In keeping with Leon’s wishes, there will be no services.

Lambert Tatman Funeral Home and Crematory, South Parkersburg, has been entrusted with his services and are honored to serve his family.
