Rev. Lehman Aldridge Channell 92, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away April 14, 2016 at the Worthington Manor Nursing Facility. He was born January 5, 1924 in Elk Water, W.Va., a son of the late Aldridge N. and Bertie Harris Channell. Lehman was an United States Army veteran, 33rd combat engineer and a minister in the United Methodist Church where he preached at The Levels United Methodist Church, West Union, Mt. Pleasant, Fairmont, Petersburg, and Lubeck United Methodist Churches. He was an elder at the WV Annual Conference and a 50 year member of the Friendship Masonic Lodge #56 West Union, WV. Lehman is survived by his two sons, Charles “Eddie” Channell (Laura) of Howey in the Hills, Fla. and Robert L. Channell (Teresa) of Williamson, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Wyatt, Tyler, Cody and Courtney; three sisters, Ruth Sheppard (Harold), Lenora Takach and Joy Lanham (Rev. Cecil) and one brother, Nelson Channell (Rose). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora Irene Channell on December 23, 2015; two brothers, Fred and John Channell; sisters, Dorothy Snyder, Mary Ware and Ava Snyder; and an infant brother, Arling Channell. Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. with Rev. Norman Butler officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. at the Brick Church Cemetery, Huttonsville, W.Va. with full Military and Masonic last rites. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Alzheimers Assoc. of the Mid-Ohio Valley, 1218 Market Street, Parkersburg, WV. 26101 or the El Hasa Shriners, 13450 St. Rt. 180, Ashland, KY. 41105, in memory of Lehman.
