Lawrence Brooks,

Lawrence Brooks Sr., 83 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away March 16, 2015 at his residence.He was born Sept. 1, 1931 in Ritchie County, W.Va., a son of the late Basil Leroy and Anna Barker Brooks. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was retired from the Keene Corp, formerly Penn Metal. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and the V.F.W. of Vienna.Lawrence is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Patsey Frey Brooks; a daughter, Evelyn Haines of Parkersburg; three sisters, Lula Bell Townsend and Ruby Martin both of Parkersburg, and Deloris Brown of Boaz, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Dionna (Josh) Searfass, Patsy West, and Rachel Brooks all of Parkersburg; and four great-grandchildren, Autumn West, Brooks, Brayconand Karma Hedges.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence Brooks Jr.; and several brothers and sisters.There will be no visitation or services. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. is assisting the family with arrangements.
