She was born in Midland, Arkansas a daughter of the late Albert O. and Mary Mollie Richards Miller.LaVaughn was a homemaker and a member of the Grand Central Church of Christ. During WWII she worked in Long Beach, CA for Douglas Aircraft where she was one of the “Rosie The Riveters”. She served many churches as a minister's wife and enjoyed opening her home and entertaining friends and family.She is survived by one son Duane E. Knapp (Janice) of Surprise, AZ; two daughters Barbara L. Terry (Bruce) of Vienna, WV and Pamela G. Hurd (Mike) of Grand Junction, CO; one daughter-in-law Julie Knapp of Corona, CA; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Duane A. Knapp on November 26, 2006; step-mother Linnie Miller; one son Kenneth R. Knapp; one sister Evelyn Martin; a half brother Billy Miller and a step- sister Nellie .Memorial services will be held at 8pm on Thursday September 30, 2010 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 3005 Grand Central Ave Vienna with Joe Spivey officiating. Graveside services will conclude at Noon on Friday October 1, 2010 at the West Virginia National Cemetery Grafton, WV Visitation will be held on Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 3005 Grand Central Ave Vienna.
