Larry Arl Stalnaker passed away on June 25, 2026. Larry was born January 7, 1943 in the family home at Apple Farm, WV, the Son of William A. And Eda B. (Wilson) Stalnaker.

A U.S. Army Veteran with periods of service in Active Army, Army Reserves, and WVARNG . Larry was employed as Foreman at Demuth Glass, Public Works Director, City of Parkersburg, and retired in 2005 as Director of Public Works and Utilities at Fuquay-Varina, NC.

Larry was active in Country and Bluegrass Music from an early age with Stalnaker Brothers Bluegrass, East Virginia Bluegrass Alliance, Cain's Run, Country Travelers, A Touch of Grass, Rocky Mountain Bluegrass, and others. In his spare time, Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, College and Professional Football, and NASCAR.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; two sisters, Barbara Hathaway and Beverly Jordan; one brother, William B. (Banjo Bill) Stalnaker; and his granddaughter, Caitlyn Ferree. He is survived by his wife, Gloria D. (Crites) Stalnaker and his children, Marcie Gonzalez (Andy) of Williamstown, Cathy Stalnaker Ferree (Tammy) of Vienna, LB Stalnaker (Jenny) of Vienna, and Trish Bawn (Mike) of Mesa, AZ. Though the road was rocky at times, he loved each of his children unconditionally. Grandchildren, Madison and Maddox Stalnaker-Drake, of Vienna, Izzy and Tyler Bawn, Mesa, AZ, Luke, Seth, and Zander Kellison of Vienna, and Lyndsay Baker of Philadelphia, PA.

There will be a celebration of life to be announced at a later time. Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, South Parkersburg, have been entrusted with Larry’s final arrangements and are honored to serve his family.
