Larry D. Roberts

Larry Donald Roberts, 74, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on June 14, 2016 at the Marietta Center of Marietta, OH. He was born April 2, 1942, in Tiffin, OH, a son of the late Glenn Roberts and Ruth Nelisse. Larry was a graduate of East High School, Akron, OH, obtained a bachelor’s degree at Kent State University and retired as a Laser Machinist at Lynndale Stainless Steel Services in Goodyear, AZ. He was an avid drag racing driver and fan. Larry was a Lutheran by faith and also served in the Navy from 1960 – 1962 where he served on the USS Oriskany CV 34. He is survived by his two sons, Kelly Roberts of California and Bryan Roberts (Melissa) of Parkersburg; two sisters, Nancy Brenn of Akron, OH and Diane Graham of Toledo, OH; two brothers, Gene Roberts (Toni) of Toledo, OH and Garrett Roberts of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and his constant companion his dog Daisy “Tinker”. Larry is preceded in death by his father, his loving mother Ruth and one granddaughter, Isabella Roberts. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm. on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. South Parkersburg with Pastor Lester Morgan officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. Interment will follow at Pond Creek Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
