A Video Tribute to Larry is now available on this site.Larry S. “Poppy” Ohrn, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Select Specialty Hospital in Charleston after a brief illness.He was born in Chicago, in 1939, the son of the late Lester Severin and Lillymae Havis Ohrn.He joined the US Army at a young age and became a sharpshooter. He was awarded several medals of merit for marksmanship as a part of the 21st Infantry. He retired from the Bureau of Public Debt after 40 years in the Treasury Dept. He was an avid NASCAR fan, bowler, hunter, outdoorsman, was a member of Blennerhassett VFW Post 1212, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge 169. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend.He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Pat; a daughter, Diane Brundige (Bob) of New Windsor, MD; sons, Larry Ohrn (Lynn) of Davisville, WV and Harry Ray Fluharty Jr. (Tracey) of Waxhaw, NC, Kevin Ohrn (Terri) of Sandyville, WV, and Danny Ohrn of Phoenix, AZ.; grandchildren, Courtney Brundige, Bobby Brundige (Melanie), Joshua Brundige, Tyler, Emily, Caitlyn, and Brady Ohrn; great-granddaughter, Emma Brundige; two brothers, Charles “Chuck” Ohrn (Carol) of Rolling Meadows, IL. and Lester Ohrn (Carol) of Simpsonville, SC; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Connie; his sister, Sandra Maas; and his great-grandson, Caleb.Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Vienna with Rev. Sandy Runion officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
