God opened the book of life and called this 25,148 days of life for Larry to come home. Larry Allen Fought, 68 years, 10 months and 7 days of Parkersburg passed away December 8, 2017 at his residence after losing a 3 1/2 year battle with cancer. Larry was born January 31, 1949 in Parkersburg, the oldest child of the late Irene Marie Thomas Fought and Russell Warren Fought. He was a graduate of PHS class of 1966. He was employed by Valtronics of Ravenswood for the last 18 years, retiring Feb. 3, 2017. He was also employed by Fairmont Supply for 20 years. He was an industrial salesman and loved his work and the people he served. Larry sold real estate for Don Duty Realty, Vienna Realty, Warfield Realty and most recently, Home Town Realty and Property Management. He also worked with Sheriff Steven Stephens and 911 Director Rick Woodyard as the Caring Team for Drug Awareness. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 169 and was a Shriner. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant UMC and was active with the PHS Reunion Committee. Larry is survived by his wife of 48 1/2 years, Pamela L. VanFossen Fought; daughter, Amy Marie Aucoin and son-in-law who he loved as his own son, Gerald of Parkersburg; sister, Connie Sue Davis (Ronald) of Parkersburg; brother, Steve W. Fought (Kathi) of Parkersburg; two grandchildren he was so proud of, Jayda M. Aucoin and Adam J. Aucoin; and brother-in-law, Roger and Cindi VanFossen of Parkersburg. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Hattie Thomas who helped raise him; and his in-laws, Kak and Pearl VanFossen Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, December 11, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Pike St. South Parkersburg with Pastor Steve Gedon officiating. Visitation will follow the service until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family would like to give special thanks to Amedisys Hospice, 4th floor North at Marietta Memorial Hospital and Dr. James Chen.
