Larry "Yogi" A. Bayer

Larry A. “Yogi” “Deacon” Bayer, 75, of Walker, WV, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at his residence. He was born November 11, 1944, in Jackson County, a son of the late Phillip L. and Melissa J. Davis Bayer. Larry was retired from the Board of Education and had previously worked for Dudley’s Florist. He enjoyed playing the lottery and working on cars. Larry attended the Christian Life Center in Parkersburg. He is survived by his wife, Naomi Ruth McCrady Bayer; his two daughters, Teresa Martin (Randy) of Davisville and Lisa West (Bud) of Parkersburg; step-daughter, Christie Stoops (Bobby Simmons) of Vienna; step-son, Joseph Life of Ashboro, NC; two brothers, Leon Bayer of Parkersburg and Bob McCrady (Leslie) of Walker; special brother in-law, Dennis McCrady (Sharon); grandchildren, Allen Martin (Brittany), Scott Martin, Brianna Paige Martin, Brittani Robison, Lindsey West, Ashlee Bender (Joe), Amanda Life, Joseph Roy Cline Life (Mary Kate Early), Christopher Stoops, Tiffani Milam (C.J.), Mary Stoops, Johnathan Stoops, Katelynn Stoops, Zoie Cottle; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and furry friends, Pokey, Punkin and High Pockets. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Bayer; two sisters, Nancy Braham and Betty Nichols; and a special poodle, Muffie. A special thanks goes to family, friends and co-workers for visits, cards and phone calls. Also, thanks to House Calls Hospice special nurses, John, Amber and Morgan for their excellent care given to Larry. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, November 22, 2019 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg with Pastor Lloyd Winans officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Ripley, WV with honorary pallbearers, Jim Ferguson, Russ Deaton, Lee Clark and Tom Ruble. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Thursday and one hour prior to the services Friday at the funeral home.
