Kerry Jean Schmitt

Kerry Jean Schmitt, age 73, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at her residence after a long courageous battle.

She was born February 7, 1951 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Bub and Margaret Tatler Fordyce. Kerry was retired after many years of service, from the Wood County School Systems, where she was a teacher’s aide. She loved watching birds, spending time with her dog, Sophie and being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren which included watching Luke play baseball and Jake wrestling.

Surviving is her children, Catrina Lemon (Todd), Jennifer Riser (Shawn), and J.J. Schmitt, all of Mineral Wells; grandchildren, Maggie Quiocho (Jordan), Andy Lemon (Kiana), Brett Hearn (Taylor), Jeffery Schmitt (Aubree), Joey Schmitt, Luke Riser, and Jake Schmitt; great-grandchildren, Hendrix Quiocho, Jovi Quiocho, Bo Quiocho, Aaliyah Lemon, and Cash Hearn due in December; a brother, Raymond Fordyce and sister-in-law, Verlene Fordyce.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Schmitt; two brothers, Barry and Tom Fordyce; and a sister, Cindy Somerville.

In keeping Kerry’s wishes, there will be no services at this time.
