Kent Andrew Brown, 63, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio. He was born January 8, 1953 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, son of the late John B. and Edna Dorothy Walker Brown. Kent was a 1970 graduate of Parkersburg South High School where he served as the 3rd Patriot, the school mascot. He was an avid fan of Parkersburg South and could be seen in attendance at most athletic events. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and the Vietnam War; was a past president of Paralyzed Veterans of America; and participated in the Wheelchair Olympics. Kent was proud to be involved for many years in sports at all levels, athlete to coach to dedicated fan. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Brent T. and Mackenzie M. Florence Brown; two sisters, Sandee (Jeff) Welch and Laurie (Mike) McKain; one brother, Ron Brown; and former wife and mother of his son, Tina A. Martin Brown. Funeral service will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 2333 Pike Street, Parkersburg with Dr. Robert E. Hughes officiating. Full military rites will be offered by American Legion Parkersburg Post 15. The family will receive friends from noon to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
