Kenneth R. “Buck” Snyder Jr., 85, of Davisville, W.Va. passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at The Willows Center. He was born December 4, 1930, in Jackson County, W.Va., a son of the late Kenneth R. and Bernice Hupp Snyder. Buck was a 1948 graduate of Parkersburg High School and a U.S. Army veteran having served in Korea. He retired from Dupont Washington Works with 30 years of service. In his earlier years, Buck rode in the rodeo. He enjoyed bluegrass music and played in several bands. He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He was a founder of the Vienna VFW. Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Lola Nutter Snyder; one daughter, Kathy Moss (the late Ron Moss) of Davisville; two sons, Steve Snyder (Norene) of Mt. Crested Butte, CO and Tim Snyder (Jill) of Cincinnatti, Ohio; one brother, Jack Snyder (Peggy) of Vienna, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Tracy Boggs (Seth) of Parkersburg, W.Va., Shelley Petty (Mike) of Indianapolis, Ind., Brandon Moss (Josh) of Columbus, Ohio, Drew Snyder of Cincinnatti, and Jake Snyder (Kelly) of Portsmouth, Ohio; six great-grandchildren, Alyssa Abel (Ben), David Abel, Jaquias Williams, Bryce Petty, Gavin Petty, and Ayden Petty; numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Snyder; and one sister, Phyllis Leach. Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. South Parkersburg with Pastor Allen Wickey officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank The Willows staff, Linda, Nora, Elizabeth, Brad and Matt and the rest of the staff for their love and care of Buck. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Buck.
