Burdette Hopkins, 66, of Parkersburg, passed away July 31, 2010, at Charleston Area Medical Center.She was born June 17, 1944, in Raleigh, N.C., a daughter of the late Emmett and Lena Allman Caplinger.She was a homemaker and enjoyed watching dirt track racing and spending time with grandkids, family and friends.She is survived by her son, Lovie Burdette (Diedra) of Parkersburg; two stepsons, Steve Hopkins of Lowell, Ohio, and David Hopkins (Diane) of Blacksburg, Va.; two brothers, Clarence Caplinger and Gary Caplinger (Patty) of Parkersburg; two sisters, Beverly Phillips of Walker and Gloria Headley of Ohio; and two grandchildren, Tommy and Katrina Burdette, both of Parkersburg.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Virgil Burdette and Luther Hopkins; two sisters, Lucretia Monroe and Carolyn Johnston; stepson, Kenny Hopkins; and daughter-in-law, Margie Hopkins.Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today and one prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
