Kathryn Ruth Garrett

Kathryn “Kathy” Whitlatch Garrett, 58, of Walker, WV., went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 19, 2024. She was born February 10, 1966, a daughter to Lester “Paul” and Geraldine “Jerry” Whitlatch.

Kathy loved everything orange, nature’s beauty, singing, writing, and painting. She loved God and her relationship with him was above all else and second to none. Her true love was that of her family, friends, children, and grandchildren.

She was a loving mother to three beautiful children, Erin (Michael) Wells, Nicholas “Nick” Lloyd, and Amanda (Branson) Garrett; loving grandmother to Fiera, Dakota, and Hayden; loving sister, Leslie Whitlach Sofranko-Elliott, Adam (Karen) Boyles, Glenn “Bud” Whitlach, Matthew “Matt” Whitlach, and Joseph “Joey” (Shawnda) Whitlatch; a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews; and a special friend Steve Workman.

Along with her father, she is preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Sofranko; and a sister-in-law, Cheryl Whitlatch.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, August 26, 2024 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg, with Pastor Tim Burch officiating. Burial will follow at the Herndon Chapel Cemetery in Deerwalk. Family will accept visitors on Sunday, August 25, 2024 from 2-4 PM, and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
