Judith Ann (Craven) Stanley, 82, of Williamstown, passed away peacefully at home on
May 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 31, 1943, in
Sistersville, WV.
Judy was a 1961 graduate of Sistersville High School. She graduated from Camden Clark
Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1964 and later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree
from Glenville State College.
Judy is survived by her devoted husband, Stephen T. Stanley of Williamstown; her
children, Carol (Steven) Tourangeau of Nashua, New Hampshire, Kelly (Lee) Hortman of
Raleigh, North Carolina, and Dr. Stephen R. Stanley (Susan) of Vienna, West Virginia;
her grandchildren, Braden and Ellis Pfahl of Worcester, Massachusetts, Hannah Hortman
of Raleigh, North Carolina, Katie (Adam) Lindamood and Abby Stanley of Dublin, Ohio,
Casey Stanley of Vienna, West Virginia, Joshua and Matthew Tourangeau of Nashua,
New Hampshire; and her great-grandson, Cooper Lindamood of Dublin, Ohio.
She is also survived by her stepsister, Terri (Chuck) Wyrostok of Cincinnati, Ohio, as
well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and countless dear friends.
In addition to her family, Judy leaves behind her cherished “grand dogs,” Arlo
Tourangeau, Diesel and Rosie Hortman, and Max Stanley, as well as her “grand cats,”
Marko Tourangeau, Geoffrey Pfahl, Nico and Lola Lindamood, and Stella Stanley.
Judy was preceded in death by her mother, Minerva Flanagan Cathers; her brother, Larry
Craven; and her stepbrother, Eddie Cathers.
In accordance with Judy’s wishes, there will be no viewing. Visitation will be held on
Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 4-7pm at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home Vienna.
Judy’s family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff of Adoration Hospice
for their exceptional care and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Camden Clark Foundation
Nursing Alumnae Scholarship Fund, Attention: Judith Stanley, RN Memorial
Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 1834, Parkersburg, WV 26101, or to the charity of one’s
choice.
To paraphrase A.A. Milne - How lucky we were to have something that makes saying
Goodbye, so hard.
