Malissa Josephine Davis Bayer McCrady passed away at Worthington Manor on Friday, March 4, 2011, surrounded by her loving family.She was born September 4, 1915 in Jackson County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Albert C. and Ottie L. Dawkins Davis.Mrs. McCrady is survived by three sons: Larry A. (Ruth) Bayer of Walker, W.Va., C. Leon Bayer of Parkersburg, W.Va. and Robert L. (Leslie) McCrady of Walker, W.Va.; a grandson whom she raised, C. A. “Rick” Braham of Vienna, W.Va.; thirteen additional grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Donna McCrady Adkins; and a daughter-in-law, Reba Bayer Starner.She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband, Wm. Clayton McCrady; two daughters, Nancy Bayer Braham and Betty McCrady Nichols; one son, Charles Bayer; an infant granddaughter; a brother, Shirley Davis; and a sister Dorothy Hartley.The family would like to give a special thank you for the loving care she received from the staff and Dr. Brian Powderly at Worthington Manor.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2011 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg.Services will conclude with burial in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Walker, W.Va.Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
