Johnnie Andrew Heskett, Jr., 87 yrs. old, of Vienna, WV now slumbers awaiting his savior Jesus Christ, following a brief illness and hospitalization at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital.Johnnie was born on January 4, 1924 at Boydsville, Arkansas, the son of the late Johnnie and Mary Ellie Shelton Heskett and a sister, the late June Thomas. He was married to the late Hallie Elizabeth “Betty” Wisenbaler-Heskett. He is also preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, George and Reta Wisenbaler; great grand-daughter Ashley Sowers, as well as a dear friend Mary Helen Wilson.He is survived by daughters, Barbara Hupp (Gary) of Parkersburg, WV and Reta “Becky” Barrett (Dave) of Frankfort, Ohio; grandchildren, Tammy Hupp Cross (Mike) of Culpepper, Virginia, Brian Hupp of Nelsonville, Ohio, Tina Hupp Powell (Steve) of Cutler, Ohio; Rebecca Mulledy Drennan (Chris) of Galloway, Ohio, James Mulledy of Bay City, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Adam, Sarah and Emily Cross, Kariah and Hunter Andrew Powell; Autumn Drennan, Jayme Lynne and Brandon Thresher, Heather Barrett-Douglass, Matt and Erik Barrett and many nieces, nephews and cousins who were loved by him dearly.He graduated high school at McLeod, Texas during wartime and immediately went to work in California assembling aircraft. Johnnie then served in the US Army and Air Force during WWII attaining the rank of Sergeant. He flew on B-17 bombers and transport commands. Following the war he attended the College of Swedish Massage in Chicago, Illinois and started his first business with his wife Betty. Later he and Betty owned a water filtration business with offices in West Virginia and Ohio. He continued his education in Business Management and Public Relations. He enjoyed meeting new people, never forgot a face or a name and enjoyed public speaking. He was an avid reader and loved watching football, baseball, tennis and basketball. He was an excellent table tennis and billiards player. Johnnie was married and baptized in the Baptist Church but attended many interdenominational churches in his latter years. He lived and worked most of his life in Columbus, Ohio but retired in Parkersburg in 2004. Most of all Johnnie just enjoyed life, laughing and talking to family and friends, as he was always a positive and compassionate person. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends. Funeral services will be held 5:00 P.M. Monday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna with Pastor Larry Boggess officiating. Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Columbus, Ohio. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
