John M. Rost, 96, of Walker, passed away March 16, 2024 at Worthington Healthcare system. He was born April 6, 1927, a son of the late John C. and Louise Bacher Rost. John was a 1945 graduate from Parkersburg High School. He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving our country honorably, during World War II. He retired as a production laborer after 30 years of service from Kaiser Aluminum. He was a Baptist by faith, and member of the Masonic Lodge #114 in Cairo for over 50 years. He enjoyed guns and target shooting. Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Derrick Rost (Barbara) and John Rost (Pam); six grandchildren, Jordan Moore (Josh), Jesse Husk (Kyle), Robert Shawn Rost, Daniel Erik Rost, Sophia Marie Rost, and Gabby Lyn Rost; two great-grandchildren, Riley Moore and Noelle Husk, and one sister, Peggy Akers. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Janis Kimble Rost; and a daughter, Patricia Rodda. John will be laid to rest beside his wife in Mt. Olivet Cemetery at a later date. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg, is honored to serve the Rost family.
