John Wellington Morris

John Wellington Morris, 68, of Mineral Wells, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born October 26, 1949, in Parkersburg, WV, the son of the late Wellington G. and Inez Baker Morris. John was a 1967 graduate of Parkersburg High School where he was the drum major for the Big Red Band. He was the owner of W. T. Graffics in Fairmont, WV, and the choir director of Mt. Pleasant UMC for many years. John was an amazing pianist and musician. In his youth, he was very active in 4-H. He enjoyed telling stories and never knew a stranger. He is survived by his three daughters, Amy Powers of Parkersburg, Christine Morris Bird (Darrin) of Huntington, WV, and Sarah Morris Stout (Sam) of Parkersburg; one sister, Shirley Carney, of Bel Air, MD; one brother, Charles Morris (Lois) of Williamstown, WV; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. south Parkersburg. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Mineral Wells. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
