John Frank Mellinger

John Frank Mellinger 89, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away December 18, 2015 at his residence. He was born October 10, 1926 in Waverly, W.Va., the son of the late Frank and Lena Riser Mellinger. John was an U.S. Army veteran and was a press operator at American Cyanamid where retired with over 30 years of service. He is survived by three daughters, Sheila Diane (Capt RC”Heck”) Heckert, Janet Whitehead and Regina Fleming all of Parkersburg; two sons; Kenneth Eugene (Aleesa) Mellinger and David Mellinger both of Parkersburg; one sister, Ramona Meddock; one brother, Gail Mellinger; grand children, Melissa and Johnny Albertsen, April and Scot Binkney, Jerry and Michael Whitehead, Stephanie Modisett, Jonathan and April Fleming and Dylan Mellinger, Scott and Heather Heckert, Brian Heckert and Susan Heckert; great-grandchildren, Christopher Mason (Tiffany), Jacob Whitehead, Lisa Marie Hupp, Alex Michael and Samuel Allen Modisett, John Adam Morgan, Jared David, Joseph Benjamin, Ryan, Andrew, Ciarra Mae and Madison Diane Binkney, Ashleigh Kay Nicole and Daniel Craig Albertsen, Brian Heckert, Jr., Brianna, Tristian, Miranda, Levi and Dakota Heckert; great-great-grandchildren, David, Cristina and Edan Mason, Preston and Chevelle Heckert, Myla Carpenter, Alex, Aisyln and Audriana Binkney. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Mae; and four brothers, Jacob, George, Lou and Don Mellinger. Funeral services for John will be held 11:00 a.m.,Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va., with Pastor Ron Hendershot officiating. Burial will follow the service at Evergreen South Cemetery, Parkersburg. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
