John Gary McDonald

John Gary McDonald, 90, of Vienna, passed away on June 4, 2025 at Cedar Grove Assisted Living. He was born July 8, 1934 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Fay E. and Irene V. Cutright McDonald.

John served four honorable years in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee, serving in Korea. He later owned and retired from his business, McDonalds Appliance sales and service. He enjoyed camping, fishing, the beach and mountains, going to yard sales, and family outings.

He is survived by his children, Cynthia McPeek (Jim) of Vienna, and Gary McDonald Jr. (Jill) of Parkersburg; two grandsons, Joshua David McDonald (Chasity) and John E. McDonald; and great grandchildren, Layla McDonald, and Tucker, Preston, and Mason Rice.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Vaughn Williams McDonald; his brother, Fay E. McDonald Jr.; and his sister, Mary Jane Frum.

In keeping with John’s wishes, there will be no services. Lambert Tatman Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with John’s final wishes, and are honored to serve his family.
