John Lee Beckett

John Lee Beckett, 74, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on November 25, 2016 at the Worthington Manor Nursing Facility. He was born January 28, 1942, in Wood County, W.Va., a son of the late Clyde and Ruth Riley Beckett. John was a U.S. Marine Veteran having served in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion Post 15 and the Golf Club of WV. He is survived by his two daughters, Deborah Beckett and Margaret McBride both of Parkersburg; three sons, Johnny Beckett of Parkersburg, Steven Beckett (Kimberly) of Parkersburg and Michael Beckett (Tessa) of Williamstown, W.Va.; Betty Moore, mother of his children and Nellie Beckett, step-mother to his children both of Parkersburg; Nellie's children, Jim Gainer II (Anita) of Parkersburg and Shellie Gainer of California; one brother, Jack E. Beckett; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one sister and three brothers. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Don Yeager officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
