John Harvey “Bub” Berry, 64, of Fleming, Ohio, passed away April, 21, 2016 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born August 15, 1951, in Parkersburg, W.Va., a son of the late John H. and Mary Ludwig Berry. John was a 1969 graduate of Warren High School where he was on the wrestling team and played football. He retired from Carpenters Local 899 where he was a lifelong member. John attended West Liberty College. He, his father and Uncle Dan owned and operated Berry Construction where they built over 200 houses in the Mid-Ohio Valley. He loved his family, his farm, raising cattle, and the occasional cold Bud. He is survived by his wife, Susan Reese Berry; daughters, Jan Elizabeth Myers (Ben) of Fleming Ohio, and Jo Ellen Berry (Cory Hooper) of Marietta, Ohio; four sisters, Joyce Weyand (George) of Akron, Ohio, Melinda Carpenter (Robert) of Columbus, Ohio, Priscilla Parker of Belpre, Ohio, and Rebecca Rupert (Michael) of Columbus; grandchildren, Megan, Emmey, and Rhys; several nieces, nephews, and special nephew Adam Berry Parker of Williamstown, W.Va. A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Boulevard, Belpre, Ohio. A celebration of John's life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the family farm. All friends and family are invited. Memorial donations may be made to Marietta Humane Society.
