John “Bill” Johnson, 88, of Parkersburg, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born June 17, 1929, in Gallipolis, OH, the son of the late John Sherman and Leona Mae Smith Johnson. Bill retired from Kaiser Aluminum after thirty three years of service. He was a 32nd degree member of the Masonic Lodge #3 in Parkersburg and was also a member of The Rock Church. Bill was also an MP in the Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Carez Johnson; one daughter, Kim (Jack) Mathers of Vienna; two sons, David (Tammy) Johnson of Athens, OH and Mike Siders of Ashville, NC; one sister, Dorothy Johnson of Belpre, OH; three grandchildren, Amanda Sheppard, Christina Johnson Brandon Siders; and one great-grandchild; and special friends, Gene and Ginny Hopkins. In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Clara Mae Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Bob Riffle and Pastor Garry Murray officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
