John Allen Lester

John A. Lester, 72, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on November 1, 2016 at Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born July 24, 1944, in Fanrock, W.Va., a son of the late Fred and Edna Barrett Lester. John was an US Army Veteran and retired from B-Machine Product in Larkmead, WV. He enjoyed collecting coins and was a Primitive Baptist. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Kaye Barnette Lester; his two sons, Gregory Lester (Sheryl) of Parkersburg and Tim Lester of Dayton, Ohio; two brothers, Lewis Lester of Oceana,W.Va. and Edgel Lester (Joan) of Biloxi, Mississippi; one sister, Faye Stewart (Billy) of Roanoke, VA; one sister in-law, Kate Lester of Biloxi; five grandchildren, Travis Lester (Lindsay) of Parkersburg, Kayla Lester Hutchinson of Parkersburg, Saturn, Julius and Sawyer Lester all of Dayton, Oh.; five great-grandchildren, Camryn, Brendon, Timmy, Shaelyn and Briley; in-laws, Virgil and Judy Barnette of Parkersburg, Carl Barnette and Mary Parsons of Elizabeth, Robert and Carol Barnette of Titusville, FL. and Marie Butcher of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Dale Lester; and two sister in-laws, Clara and Mary Lester. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home. Additional funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the Stafford Funeral Home, Lynco, W.Va. Visitation will be one hour prior to service on Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Lester family cemetery in Fanrock, W.Va. with full military rites. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of the people that were there to extend their love and support to the family.
