Jill D. Metz

Jill D. Metz, 50, of Parkersburg, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at her residence. She was born June 25, 1969, in Parkersburg, a daughter of Ruby L. Rowley Metz of Parkersburg and the late Richard E. Metz. Jill graduated from Parkersburg South High School and WVU-P where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in social work and criminal justice. She worked for WV DHHR as an Economic Service Worker and was a past member of East Wood Volunteer Fire Department. Jill enjoyed crocheting, loved animals and dirt track racing when able. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Joseph E. Teifer II; one son, Jesse Metz of Parkersburg; and one brother, Tim (Connie) Metz of Parkersburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. with Pastor Michael Lamb officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
