Jerry M. Riggs

Jerry M. Riggs, 77, of Washington, WV passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born August 28, 1948 in Calhoun County, WV to the late Leon B. and Marjorie M. Knight Riggs.

Jerry retired from the WV DOH as a heavy equipment supervisor. He enjoyed going to Mt. Zion Church when he lived in the area. After moving back to Wood County, he was known to be a coin collector. He could often be found socializing and eating at Mary B's restaurant. When he was able, he also enjoyed playing golf and deer hunting. Jerry was a talker and it didn’t matter if you knew him or not, you found a friend in him.

Left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Doris A. Wyatt Riggs; sister, Kathryn Lydick; niece, Lisa Marks (Darren); great nephew, Tyler Marks; and his god-children, Amanda Bennett (Jeremy) and Brian Roach.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Joker Cemetery in Calhoun County. He will be laid to rest beside his parents.
