A Video Tribute to Jerry is now available on this site.Jerry Lee Davis, 76 of Williamstown, passed away November 20, 2014 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital.He was born February 22,1938 in Middlebourne,WV, a son of the late George O. and Norma Carpenter Davis.Jerry graduated from Williamstown High School with the class of 1956. Soon after he joined the US Air Force and was stationed at the Kessler Air Force Base where he was an instructor and sang in the Air Force Choir. Jerry worked for IBM in Alabama and North Carolina for nine years, he retired as owner of Wilkinson Industrial Coatings. He was a member of the American Legion Post #159 in Williamstown, was a former Williamstown City Councilman, a member of the Boaz Baptist Church and former member of the First Baptist Church of Williamstown. Jerry was an avid reader and was on the Williamstown Library Committee. Jerry had a lifetime passion for music. He directed the Youth Choir at First Baptist Church in Williamstown in 1979 and 1980. He sang with the Marietta Choral under the direction of Bill Bigger for many years. He was instrumental in organizing the Music In The Park Series in Williamstown.Jerry enjoyed vacations to the beach but most of all loved being with his wife and family, and will be remembered as a devout Christian. Jerry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth Ann Baughman Davis; three daughters, Bonny Rich-Carper (Millard Carper) of Reno, Ohio, Lisa Gardner (Jeff) of Williamstown, Susan Flythe (Paul) of Buxton, North Carolina; three sons, Shannon Davis of Winfield, WV., Jeremy Davis (Kate) of Phoenix, Arizona and Mark Dugan (Shannon) of Mineral Wells, WV.; grandchildren, Karl, Garrett, Kelsey, Madelin, Ellie, Chloe, Leelah, Kaylie, Mark Jr., Brittin, Mandy, Ryan, JoJo and Russ; great-grandchildren, Grant and Violet; three sisters, Linda Roush of Williamstown, Patty Jo Kennedy of Boaz and Carol McCafferty of Marietta, Ohio.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son Daniel Davis, two brothers, George and Steve Davis; one sister, Nola Skeen and one great-grandchild, Xander.Funeral services for Jerry will be held 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 25th. at the Boaz Baptist Church with Pastor Bob Alfred officiating, burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Williamstown, with full military honors by American Legion Post #159 of Williamstown. Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. Monday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.Memorial donations may be made in Jerry's name to the Strings Program at Williamstown Elementary and High Schools, or the Music IN The Park Series in care of The Williamstown City Building.
