Jeffrey "Jay" Waugh

Jeffrey “Jay” Waugh, 61, of Bethesda, Ohio, formerly of Parkersburg, passed away July 27, 2017 at Liza Place Valley Hospice in Wheeling, WV. Jay was born January 20, 1956, in Gallipolis, Ohio, a son of Jennie Suiter Waugh of Ravenswood and the late Jack A. Waugh. He was a 1974 graduate of Ravenswood High School. He attended West Virginia University and received his bachelor’s degree. Jay served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He worked for the Bureau of Public Debt as a computer software developer. He enjoyed riding his Harley, enjoyed music and playing his guitar and loved nature. He is survived by his wife, Jill Waugh; one son, Andrew Galland (Melody) of Morgantown; one sister, Jeri Rector (Tim) of Ravenswood; one brother, John Waugh (Debi) of Charleston, WV; his mother in-law, Grace Rock (Joseph); a nephew, Brett Rector (Cassie); and two nieces, Emily Rector and Johnna Waugh; A celebration of Jay’s life will be held Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor Chris Skeens officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial of Jay’s cremains will be held at a later date at the Mound Hill Cemetery in Gallipolis with Military honors. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to the Belmont County Animal Shelter 45244 National Rd. St. Clairsville, Ohio 43950.
