Jeanette Pursley, 65, of Newark, WV, went to be with the Lord on September 11, 2025, at Camden Clark Medical Center in the company of her husband and son. She was born December 6, 1959, at St. Joseph Hospital in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter of the late Charles and Wilma Johnston.
Jeanette worked and retired from Bureau of Fiscal Services in Parkersburg after 33 years of service. She began volunteering at Old Man Rivers Mission in 2003 and continued faithfully until January 2025. She loved serving at Old Man Rivers, traveling, quilting, and spending time with her family.
She leaves behind her husband, William Pursley; son, Michael Pursley; daughter-in-law, Vanessa Pursley; grandchildren, Oscar and Calista Pursley; and her sisters, Leila Coe, Elizabeth Collins, and Betty Myers.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Terry Wilson, Deborah Rockhold, and Sue West; and her brothers, Steve and Stanley Johnston.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., South Parkersburg, with Pastor James Kelly officiating. Graveside service will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jackson County. Visitation will be from 5 -7 p.m. on Monday, September 15 and from 11-1 on Tuesday at the funeral home.
