There is now a video tribute to Jean on this web site. Jean Barron,91 of Vienna, W.Va. passed away on December 13, 2015, at Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. Jean was born on February 13, 1924 on Route 1, Lynn Camp, Ritchie County,W.Va. to the late Raymond Osborne and Iva (Cornell) Taylor. She lost her mother shortly after her birth and was raised by her grandparents, Alica and Daniel Taylor (Tat). She went to a one room school until eighth grade when her family moved to Pennsboro where she started Jr. High. She graduated with the class of 42. She was married September 1,1943 in Medford, Oregon, to her high school sweetheart the late Carl H. Barron they shared 61 years together. Jean was a 50 year plus member of the Pioneer Antique Auto Club, a founding member of the Rainbow Grange, Ritchie County and an active member of the Vienna Baptist Church, Quilters and Crafters. Surviving are her children, Carol Ann and (Roy) Meredith, Sam and (Karen) Barron, Linda Cutright, Penny and (Jeff) Thomas, David and (Nancy) Barron and Cathie and (Jonathan) Hill. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, her brother (Jack Taylor) and an infant grandchild. The funeral services will be Friday, December 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, WV. Dr. Bill Brown and Dennis Pratt of Vienna Baptist Church will be officiating and graveside services will follow at Masonic Cemetery at Ellenboro, W.Va. at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be Thursday, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
