Jarratt C. “Jack” Branch, 87, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 in the Parkersburg Care Center. Jack was born in Memphis, Tennessee, the only son of Grady Otis and Aline Sue Angus Branch. Jack was an electrician for nineteen years at the former American Viscose Corp. and retired from the former O'Ames Company also as an electrician after nineteen years of service. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as an overseas veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the 1092nd National Guard and 463rd Engineer Battalion Reserves. Jack was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, American Legion and the V.F.W. He was an active member of South Parkersburg U.M. Church serving as a greeter and usher, choir member and member of the church softball team. Jack especially enjoyed his family, bowling in local leagues and fishing. Survivors include his wife of sixty one years, Geraldine “Gerry” Shepherd Branch; two sons, Reverend Richard K. DeQuasie (Susie) and Pastor Michael L. Branch (Karen) all of Mineral Wells, W.Va.; one daughter, Lynda Sue Branch Roberts of Parkersburg: five grandchildren, Brian DeQuasie (Joann), Beth Brown (Roger), Heather York (Chas), Amanda Branch and Jason Roberts; five great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Simerson. The family extends a special thank you to the Doctors, and all staff of Parkersburg Care Center and House Calls Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the Wounded Warriors Project or the South Parkersburg U.M. Church. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the South Parkersburg U.M. Church with Reverend Jim Plyburn officiating assisted by Reverend Rick Brown. Immediately following services, interment with full military honors will be conducted by Parkersburg Post 15, American Legion will be in the Evergreen South Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, South Parkersburg from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and at the church one hour prior to services.
