Janice W. McCaffery

Janice W. McCaffery, 95, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away peacefully Friday, August 14th, 2026, at her son and daughter-in-law's residence, surrounded by loving family, and with the compassionate care of Adoration Hospice.

Daughter of the late John William Drake and Bessie Catherine Drake Fleming, Janice was born January 9th, 1931, in Parkersburg, WV. After graduating from Parkersburg High School, Class of 1950, Janice went on to work as a meat cutter at A&P and cared for her husband and family as homemaker for the remainder of her life. She was a devoted member of the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Parkersburg, WV.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Hugh H. McCaffery; son, Hugh Michael "Mike" McCaffery; three sisters and a brother.

She is survived by her loving son, James Patrick McCaffery (Donna), Parkersburg, WV; grandchildren, Brian McCaffery of Parkersburg, Adam McCaffery and Stacy Cassell of Martinsburg, WV; great-grandchildren, Destiny Shiftlett, Sierra Laing, and Christopher "CJ" Laing, and Adaline McCafferyall of Martinsburg, WV; and sister-in-law, Sherry McCaffery; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will take place Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 12:00 PM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Parkersburg, WV with Father Sebastian Davasya officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until time of service at the church. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery North in Parkersburg, WV.
